We recommend that you refill your cartridge as soon as you see the print quality begin to degrade. Continuing to print a cartridge that is running dry will damage it.
- How many times can I refill a cartridge?
Print cartridges can deliver excellent print quality long after they first run out of ink. The number of refills depends on many factors; the most important is how well you take care of your cartridge. Customers should achieve multiple refills on a well maintained cartridge before needing to replace it with a new one.
- What is the proper way to handle a cartridge?
As soon as you remove the cartridge from your printer, place it into the protective clip provided after the initial refill. This will protect the cartridge and prevent it from drying out. If you do not have a clip, place 1-3 cartridges in a letter sized envelope, being careful not to rub print heads against objects when transporting. Keep in a cool place, away from sunlight. Bring it in for refilling as soon as possible after removing it from your printer. Never place tape over the print head nozzles.
- What if there is a problem with my cartridge and it can’t be refilled?
The retailer should either give you the cartridge back or offer to recycle it for you. You should not have to pay if the cartridge fails the final quality inspection. We recommend that you purchase a new OEM cartridge and bring it in for a refill the next time you run out of ink. Be sure to recycle your cartridge at its end-of-life.
- How long does it take to refill a cartridge?
Most retailers that offer an on-site service can refill your cartridge in less than an hour. It will depend on how busy they are with other orders. Ask the operator to give you an estimated delivery time.
- Can I refill my cartridge if I have already refilled it somewhere else?
As long as your cartridge is in good working condition, you can take it to a reputable retailer for refilling.
- Is there a recommended usage date for a refilled cartridge?
The refilled cartridge should be used within 90 days of refill, and remain in the protective clip until ready for use.
